    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front (but only very slightly); rectangular with cut angles; both back and frontal angles slightly cut. Three lines of cursive script (nasta`līq), the first underlined by the return of the loop of the final yā' at the end of the first line; with dots.

    (1) Slave of God, Ḥājī بنده خدا حاجى
    (2) Abū Bakr b. ابو بكر بن
    (3) Aḥmad [10]94[?]/1682-3 احمد ٩٤

    There are small schematic flower heads consisting of points, joined to a spiral stem, spread over the ground. Two lines follow the shape of the gem.
