    The Barlow Collection

The finely potted bowl is of globular form, with incurved rim, tapering towards a slightly splayed, neatly cut foot. The thickly applied glaze is of even milky-blue tone and smooth texture, adhering in a thin, almost colourless, translucent layer at the rim, and leaving the foot and an accidental patch nearby free. The pointed base is unevenly covered with glaze. The glaze is very tactile and shiny, the biscuit has fired a glossy dark yellowish-brown. The outside has a thick black iron spot.
