    The Barlow Collection

    The small vessel has a depressed globular body, narrow neck and everted rim with slightly raised edge and stands on three bulging pointed legs. A circular area at the base is somewhat recessed and shows a small firing crack. The opaque milky-blue glaze fades to an almost colourless translucent appearance at the edges of the rim, around the shoulder and on the legs, and adheres in a thick layer of intense colour inside the neck. The outside is decorated with two bright purplish-pink splashes. The inside is unglazed and shows the yellowish-brown biscuit, the tips of the legs are broken off and show that under the glaze the body fired grey.
