Kalila and Dimna is a collection of fables translated from Sanskrit into Arabic featuring animals as protagonists. The episode illustrated here relates the story of the king-lion who killed the honest courtier-bull because of the false accusations of betrayal made by the jackal-vizier Dimna. The tale proclaims the importance of having trusted advisors.
