  • Islamic Seals and Talismans by Ludvik Kalus

Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

Base metal; ring-bezel, plain; oval. In a circular ground, two lines of cursive script, in tête-bêche; in relief.

    (1) There is no conqueror ولا غالب
    (2) except God الا الله

This can be attributed to the dynasty of the Nasrids in Spain (629-897/1232-1492). The phrase in the inscription was their dynastic device.
