    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front (but only very slightly); oval; front angle very slightly rounded, back angle rounded. Two lines of cursive script (nasta`līq), separated by the return of the loop of the final yā’; with dots. A date on the right side at the top.

    (2) Ḥukūmat حكومت
    (1) Rāy 1160/1746-7 راى ١١٦٠

    There are two flower heads consisting of four dots and two consisting of seven dots. On the right, between the two lines, a motif in shape of an 'S' indicates the kāf in the word Ḥukūmat. There are also two small flowers consisting of two joined commas. Two concentric oval lines follow the shape of the gem.
