    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Green jasper; bezel, bevelled towards the front (but only very slightly); oval; back angle very slightly cut, frontal angle very slightly rounded. Two lines, of cursive script (nasta`līq); between the two lines, on the right side, there is a date.

    (1) His servant عبده

    1088/1677-8 ١٠٨٨

    (2) Sālim سالم

    A branch with stylised flowers and some small flower heads cover the ground schematically. Two concentric lines follow the edge of the gem.
