    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    A natural-coloured interlacing band is woven over a red ground, with details picked out in gold, brown, and blue.

    The ground weave is weft-faced, so that the brown warp threads are hardly visible. Two pieces of the fragment are sewn onto a hessian background, one showing the reverse.
