The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Two half diamonds and a large spiral ending in a 'hand of Fatima' design; one of the half diamonds and the spiral have a border of small hooks. There also is a narrow border band with an inscription.

The textile has a fringe which is made from 2-ply, s-spun flax, inserted into the linen fabric. The border of the main textile has a chain stitch line embroidered in blue and yellow silk.
