Chinese Prints 1950-2006 in the Ashmolean Museum
Gu Yizhou began his artistic career when he joined the Eighth Route Army in 1937. Gu graduated in 1956 from a special class for cadres in the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Later he entered the Beijing Institute of Painting as a professional artist. He specialized in Chinese ink painting.
