The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A band with stars and rhombic shapes, worked in very fine drawn thread work with needle-woven bars and connecting loop stitch, as well as in pulled work with a variation of four-sided stitch, worked like a double-hem stitch.

The design is apparently made up from both pulled and drawn-thread work, embroidered in fine yellow needle weaving.

The fragment has a radiocarbon date of 1276 AD +/- 33.
