    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front (but only very slightly); square; front angle slightly cut. Two lines of cursive script (nasta`līq). A date above the first line; between both lines a couple of figures,

    (1) Muṣliḥ [or Muṣallaḥ] مصلح

    (2) Khān خان

    On the ground are small flower heads consisting of dots, crossed strokes or groups of small crosses. One rectangular line follows the shape of the gem.

    The number 23 indicates the 23rd year of the reign of the Mughal Emperor Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn (1131-61/1719-48)
