The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A wide band with an octagon containing an eight-pointed star, four points of which have an S-shape embroidered in blue satin stitch. Four sides of the octagon have a triangle added that is embroidered in yellow satin stitch. The designs on either side of the octagon have deteriorated and cannot be reconstructed, but like the octagon they were set into a four-sided diamond. The space between these linked diamonds is filled with hook motifs. All outlines are embroidered in dark blue double running stitch.

The width of the band is 10 cm.
