The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Quatrefoils are set into diamonds, two of which are blue, one green. A split stitch is used both as outline and filling. Between the diamonds are yellow rosettes with split stitch outline and satin stitch filling. All are set against a background of pulled work embroidery in yellow three-sided stitch. The design is contained in a band with a narrow border embroidered in blue satin stitch.

The band has been hemmed and then is sewn diagonally onto a plain linen backing.
