The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A sampler fragment with a light blue geometric shape containing an eight-pointed star with a spiral at the centre, two S-shapes of different sizes embroidered in dark blue double running stitch, and a narrow band with a reversed S-shape outlined in yellow satin stitch and embroidered in dark blue double running stitch. There are remains of light green satin stitches to fill the background of the band, and some additional sampler designs in stepped double running stitch.
