    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    Three parallel bands with reversed S-shapes alternating with diagonal lines. The embroidery fills the background, the design appears in the undyed ground fabric.

    The bands are 2 cm wide. At right angles to them there is a rolled hem along one side, partly overcast with silk thread. The close counted herringbone stitch defines the main design band, with a single line of spaced cross stitches running along the borders of the bands.
