    Chinese Paintings in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

    Lo Ch'ing was born in Qingdao, Shandong province, but grew up in Taiwan where he is now Professor of English at Taiwan Normal University. At the age of thirteen he became a pupil of the Qing imperial prince Pu Hsin-yu, renowned for his traditional style. Lo Ch'ing later followed the Zen Buddhist monk painter Ju-yu and is now well-known as a poet and as a calligrapher and painter.
