The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A continuous pattern of triangles (or heart-shapes) containing a single chevron, and linked to each other at the apex. The base of the triangles has a zigzag shape. The direction of each of the triangle pairs changes by 90 degrees and alternates between light and dark blue.

The change of direction also applies to the stitches. Along one side there are remains of a dark blue and yellow (undyed) silk brocade, as well as cotton blue and white check. Held by a flat seam.
