    The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

    Rounded oblong; "wire" edge; in very flat or sunk relief with katakiri engraving and a little iroye incrustation is a mounted Tatar archer who, standing on his saddle, has just discharged his bow; at the back a boy fords a streamlet to retrieve the pigeon transfixed by the arrow; rocks and a pine-tree; fine ishime ground. Signed: Nagaharu with kakihan [Japanese text].
