The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A wide design field with individual six-petalled blue rosettes with red centres, separated by linked rhomboids, each of which is filled with a tendril.

Only the embroidery of the rosettes remains, although the rhombic shapes and small vines are clearly visible as outline drawings.

The fragment has a radiocarbon date of 1027 AD +/- 36.
