The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
Modelled in very sharp relief as a single aoi leaf pointing to the right, the rh. and other holes representing the results of decay; the long stem curves in a complete circle to form the rounded border. Signed: Yoshinaga [Japanese text] Mito no jū (sic, in that order).
A guard in the Victoria and Albert Museum of similar, but not identical design, is signed by this artist in the same way.
