The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A grid of open work needle weaving leaves separate rectangles, each of which contains either an interlace rosette with trefoil finials, or an eight-pointed star with a smaller star at the centre, surrounded by eight small flowers, all stitched in blue.

A rolled hem runs along the length of the fragment, and there are remains of hem stitching along a second side at right angles. The fragment was probably part of a cover or curtain.
