Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans
Red jasper; bezel, bevelled towards the front (but only bery slightly); rectangular. Two lines of cursive script (nasta`līq), with dots, and a date. Between two lines, there is the number 10 in the loop of the shīn. In Persian.

There are some small leaves, consisting of simple strokes, spread over the ground. One line follows the shape of the gem.
This could be a seal from the period of the Mughal emperor Nāṣir al-dīn Muḥammad (1131-61/1719-48), the number 10 designating the tenth year of his rule.
