The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A narrow band is divided into alternating rectangles and squares. The design outlines are embroidered in yellow satin stitch; the rectangles are further divided by a lozenge containing an S-shape embroidered in blue double running stitch and triangles of yellow pulled work with wrapping stitches in diagonal lines. The squares each hold a small four-armed spiral outlined in blue double running stitch.

The band is 1.2 cm wide.
