    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    Two wide bands, one appliquéd, the other of patchwork. The appliqué band has red paired leaves on a brown ground; the patchwork band has crenellations that complement each other. They are red and green in one direction, and undyed fabric (beige) in the opposite one.

    The sewing thread is white flax, some of it twisted with a blue strand.
