The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Two narrow bands are arranged in parallel v-shapes, each filled with a linked scroll pattern of s-shapes. The embroidery defines the background.

The bands are 1.5 cm wide. There is some mending down the centre of the fragment, probably done after excavation. The bands may have been intended to be the neck border design of a garment.
