The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A large tab with drawn open work in the centre, with remains of undyed yellow silk embroidery and an overlay of outline stitch embroidery in flax, shaped into circles and interlace. The tab also has a wide border embroidered in turquoise slanted counted filling stitch, with small, fine cartouches reserved against the turquoise background. The cartouches have brown outlines embroidered in outline stitch.

The tab has a complete backing of linen. It is therefore not possible to indicate the direction in which the filling stitch has been worked.
