    The Barlow Collection

The bowl is very heavily potted, the rounded conical sides turned in at the rim, the low straight foot with a recessed base and a high footring. The inside is incised with a lotus spray, engraved in a swirling movement, with double and single outlines, in imitation of Ding ware, the outside is plain. The fairly rough, off-white stoneware is covered with a transparent glaze, leaving impurities in the body to show through. The footring is unglazed.
