    The Barlow Collection

The thick red glaze of this vase is often referred to as a sang-de-boeuf glaze.

The vase has a broad globular body, a wide straight foot, and a tall, slender neck which flares towards the rim. The outside is covered with a thick glaze of intense, rich opaque copper-red colour with slight overall mottling, the inside and base are covered with a green-tinged crackled translucent glaze. The footring is unglazed, the base incised with a six-character Qianlong seal mark.
