A very fine continuous vine scroll with numerous interlacing tendrils contains an animal, probably a griffin.
A fabric (?cotton) and leather are quilted together and then embroidered with silk. The green silk embroidery provides the background, while the interlacing vine and animal are raised leather. The decoration is of good quality and has close parallels to Mamluk metalwork. -
