Textile fragment with chalices, fish, and inscription

  • Literature notes

    Single chalices and fish, each containing an inscription, have been embroidered over a large textile. There also is a wide band of chevrons, with borders of a continuous vine and leaves.

    The textile has two selvedges; in addition a piece of loosely woven ?linen with a blue check design is sewn into one corner.
