Textile fragment with bands of linked diamond-shapes

  • Literature notes

Three parallel bands, each made up of solid lines with a single row of small, linked diamonds in the centre. The two outer bands are black, the one in the centre is light blue.

The bands are at right angles to the selvedge. The black bands are 2 cm wide, the light blue is 1.5 cm. The bands may have been part of a sampler, as they only follow certain different lengths and then stop.
